APP Modified Roofing
Attactic Polypropylene Modified Bitumen, or APP Modified roofing, is a durable asphalt-based membrane that is reinforced with a polyester mat. This is also known as “torch down roofing”, because torches are used to melt the underside of the roll that allows it to adhere, or stick to, the prepared substrate. This system is commonly installed over existing roof systems such as a smooth surfaced built up roof, another modified roof, or a fiberglass-base sheet.
Manufacturers of modified materials generally recommend that this system receives maintenance and/or coating work every five to seven years or as required. J.E.
